I have been involved with breeding and exhibiting Budgerigars for the last fifteen years, the later curtailed somewhat by other commitments. The first ten years were spent breeding all colours and types of Budgerigars , including Recessives, Pieds and Clearwings. In 1999 after reading an article by Ray Steele (Lutino) and spured on by the efforts of Derrick Bowley (Blues) the decision was atken to specialise in the Lt Greens, after tittering on the brink, August 21st 2000 arrived and a trip to William Peacock in Cirlin undertaken (my gab was absolutely flabbered). A wonderland of Lt Green Budgerigars !! Birds were purchased and the quest to build a stud of Lt Greens began in earnest. The untimely departure from the hobby of Bill Nelson (Burnley) led to the purchase of many quality Lt Green, Dark Green and Spangled Budgerigars. These birds, the birds purchased from Bill Peacock(Girvan) and a number of Lt Greens purchased from Ray Steele and John Woods form the background of todays birds |
