The birdroom as it is now measures a total of 15' * 13' this evolved from the original cabin a standard 10' * 8' boarded shed. With 2' * 2' spars and a concrete floor
The two inside flights both measure 8' 3 * 4' an are used to house the adult and moulted out birds as well as to seperate the cocks and hens prior to the start of the breeding season.
The nursery flight is 8' * 2'6" and is the next step for the babies coming out of the three nursry cage's. Seed is stored under this flight in plastic bins
The nursery cages are a new addition this year they measure 4' 8" * 1' 6" and are in a bank of three two of these have show cages attached.
On the right of the door there is a small
4' 6" * 2' flight for hens to spend 2-3 weeks to recouperate after being removed from the nest boxes.
The main bank of breeding cages number 24 and are 26" * 6" * 15.5" all fitted with std box within a box nest boxes
A small bank on the back wall contains 8 cages 22" * 18" * 15" fitted with a different style of box to accommodate hens which have a dislike of the box within a box nest boxes
